Our skilled team of large animal veterinary surgeons are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your farm animals. We offer an ambulatory service which operates five days a week throughout the South Devon area, with access to 24-hour emergency care.
Chris qualified from Liverpool University in 1984 and has worked at Totnes since then, originally as a partner in Hair, Beaumont & Partners/Dart Vale Veterinary Group. Chris is interested in all aspects of veterinary clinical work, latterly spending most of his working time in the large animal field, from scanning dairy cows, TB testing and emergencies all the way down to backyard poultry flocks. Chris enjoys seeing animals happy and healthy. He mentors our new young team of large animal vets at South Devon Farm Vets. Outside of work Chris enjoys keeping up to date with current affairs and politics, most sports, gardening, walking and cycling. He is currently aiming for another GB cycling qualification to participate the senior amateur world road race in Poland 2019.
Bogdan Draniceru MRCVS
Bogdan qualified in 2014 from USAMV Iasi in Romania and worked for two years back at home as a mixed vet. After his wife graduated in 2016 they decide to come to the UK and start a new career here. In the beginning Bogdan worked as a veterinary meat hygiene inspector in different slaughterhouses in Somerset. After six months he decided to move forward in his career and join a large animal practice to do TB testing. In October 2017 Bogdan was pleased to join South Devon Farm Vets which he thoroughly enjoys. Coming from an area full of mountains Bogdan loves being within a short distance from the beach. In his spare time he is passionate about travelling, socialising, listening to music and contact sports.
Tanja Van Loon MVetMed MRCVS
Tanja is originally from the Netherlands and went to university in Belgium, where she qualified as a vet in 2014. She worked in a mixed practice in Northern Ireland for three years before joining us here at South Devon Farm Vets. As you can maybe tell, Tanja enjoys travelling and loves to see a bit of the world. She is a self proclaimed adrenaline junkie who likes trying new sports and loves the outdoors. Tanja also enjoys being creative (in all sorts of ways) and reading books. She's always had many 'special’ pets (think rats, snakes, tarantulas and leeches!) but since moving here hasn't gotten any yet.
Joseph Whittle BVM&S MRCVS
Joe qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 2015. He then worked in a large animal/equine practice in Dumfriesshire in the South West of Scotland before moving to Devon in 2017. Away from work Joe enjoys horse racing and most other sports as well as walks with his dog, Erin, who you may have met as she often rides along on calls.
